Random Acts of Kindness is a Crisis Grant Program that supports students experiencing an unforeseen financial crisis that endangers the continuation of their education.

These crisis grants are awarded to our students and are only used exclusively for non-academic expenses such as transportation help, outstanding utility bills, groceries and unmet basic needs.

“Random Acts of Kindness program assisted me through a very difficult time in my life…, my car had broken down and become costly to fix. Additionally, I had pain in my upper right molar that required a root canal. That was not the worst of it. My job had just cut my hours from 28 hours/week to 8 hours/week. This caused me to not only miss my financial obligations but unable to earn the funds needed to fix my vehicle…Once I contacted an ARCC counselor and informed them about my issues, they request that I write a letter explaining my situation….I was not only grateful for the paying of the mechanics and rent bills, I am also grateful for the $100 in food assistance and $75 fuel assistance….These improvements in my life are a direct result of your kindness…I know, through my experience, that “Random Acts of Kindness” improves many lives.”
